When someone catches Zika  they might feel like they have the flu. They can get a fever a rash red eyes, sore muscles  and a headache. It's like having a bad cold.

 There's no special medicine to cure Zika. People who get sick just need to rest drink water  and take some over-the-counter medicine for pain and fever like acetaminophen.

To avoid Zika you should.

Stop Mosquitoes.
Try to keep mosquitoes away by using bug spray getting rid of places where they breed  and using nets to sleep.

Be Careful About Getting Sick. 

If you're pregnant or thinking about having a baby  be extra careful. Don't travel to places where Zika is common and be careful about having sex to avoid spreading the bug.

In simple terms Zika is a virus that's carried by mosquitoes and can make people feel sick. There's no special medicine for it so if you get sick you need to rest and drink water.
