The RAMAYAN
THE GREAT INDIAN MYTHOLOGICAL SAGA
 It is an ancient Indian epic that narrates the life and adventures of Lord Rama an avatar of the god Vishnu. It is divided into several chapters or kandas( episodes).

1. Balakanda
 ( The childhood episode of Lord Rama)
 The story begins with the birth of Rama  the prince of Ayodhya  and his early life.His father name was King Dasrath. Rama had three brothers. Rama wins the heart of the people with his virtue and courage. He marries Sita and his stepmother Kaikeyi schemes to exile him from the kingdom.

2. Ayodhyakanda

 ( Rama is send in exile  by 
   his step mother)

 Rama  along with Sita and his loyal brother Lakshmana goes into exile for 14 years in the forest. Meanwhile  in Ayodhya Bharata  Rama's younger brother refuses to be crowned king in his absence and places Rama's sandals
( wooden sleeper) on the throne as a symbol of his rule.

3. Aranyakanda 
 ( Rama in forest)
 Rama's exile continues in the forest where he encounters various sages  demons and allies. The most notable is the battle with Surpanakha
( The Lankan  princess)  the demoness and the golden deer that leads to the kidnapping of Sita by the demon king Ravana.

4. Kishkindhakanda
( Episode in which Rama prepares army with the help of Hanuman)
 Rama forms an alliance with Hanuman, Sugriva and the Vanaras (monkey warriors) to rescue Sita. Hanuman's heroic leap to Lanka to find Sita is a highlight.

5. Sundarakanda
( Rama gets news about  Sita)

 Hanuman returns with news of Sita's captivity in Lanka. Rama and the Vanaras prepare for war against Ravana.

6. Yuddhakanda ( The war between Rama and Ravana)

The great battle between Rama and Ravana takes place. With the help of his divine bow and the support of his allies  Rama defeats Ravana and rescues Sita .
still Sita had to give her purity test in fire where she emerges  pious and pure. 

7. Uttarakanda 
(Rama  reaches his kingdom Ayodhya)

 Rama returns to Ayodhya and  he is crowned as king. This day Ayodhya is decorated with lights.
This day Hindus all over the world celebrate Diwali ( the festival of light)
 

The Ramayana is a timeless tale of dharma (duty) righteousness and the triumph of good over evil. It is attributed to the sage Valmiki and has been retold in various versions and adaptations throughout history making it a central piece of Indian mythology and culture.
